Electric Fireplaces in Northern Utah

Electric fireplace installation, repair and upkeep: wall-mounted units, inserts, mantels and media consoles, wired safely.

Want fireplace warmth without a chimney or a gas line?

An electric fireplace gives one room a flame effect and steady heat using only power, so there is no chimney, vent or gas line to install. It is a simple way to warm up a living room, bedroom or basement that runs a little cool. Most models let you run the flame effect with the heat off, so you can enjoy the look in any season. We help you pick a unit that fits the room, install it and wire it safely, and repair and maintain it later. Electric fireplaces are one of our commercial and specialty services. If you have a gas fireplace that will not light, our gas fireplaces page is the one you need.

Warning signs you need an electric fireplace or fireplace service

One room is always cooler than the rest

A basement family room, a bedroom over the garage or an addition can lag behind the rest of the house in winter. An electric fireplace gives that room its own heat without changing your whole heating system.

An old fireplace sits unused

A drafty wood-burning fireplace that nobody lights anymore can take an electric insert. It fits the existing opening and turns a cold corner into a warm one.

The flame works but the heat does not

If the flame effect runs but no warm air comes out, the heating element, its fan or a safety cutoff may have failed.

Noises, a burning smell or a tripping breaker

Grinding or clicking from the fan calls for a technician. So does a burning smell that lasts past the first few uses, or a breaker that trips when the heater comes on.

Common causes of electric fireplace problems

Dust on the heater and fan

Dust builds up on the fan and the heating element over time. It can cause a burning smell, slow the fan down and trip the overheat protection built into the unit.

Worn flame-effect parts

The flame look comes from lights and, on some models, a small motor that turns a reflector. When the lights burn out or the motor wears, the flame dims or stops moving.

Remote and control faults

Dead remote batteries, a lost pairing or a failed control board can make the unit ignore you. We check the simple fixes first.

An overloaded circuit

A fireplace heater draws a lot of power. Sharing a circuit with a space heater, a vacuum or another big load can trip the breaker. That is why larger and hardwired units often need a circuit of their own.

What to expect from installation and service

For a new fireplace, we visit during business hours to look at the room, the wall and your electrical panel. Then we go over the styles that suit your space:

  • Wall-mounted units that hang flat on the wall and save floor space.
  • Inserts that slide into an existing fireplace opening.
  • Mantel units that come with a surround and a shelf.
  • Freestanding units that look like a small stove.
  • Media consoles that combine a TV stand with a fireplace.

Some models plug into a standard outlet. Larger and hardwired models may need a dedicated circuit, and we can add one. You get the price before any work starts. On install day we mount the unit securely and connect the wiring. Then we test the heat, the flame effect and the controls and walk you through it. New installations come with our workmanship warranty, and financing is available through our lending partners (see financing).

For repairs, we find the problem, explain it and quote the fix before we begin. Repairs come with a warranty on parts and labor. Upkeep is simple: we clear dust from the fan and heater, check the wiring and controls and replace worn flame-effect lights.

For the rest of the house, our VIP Maintenance Plan costs $240 a year and includes one 2-hour visit a year covering an 88-point HVAC and plumbing inspection, a 1-inch filter replacement and a written report, plus 10% off repairs and priority scheduling.

Electric fireplace installation across Northern Utah

We install and service electric fireplaces from our base in Brigham City. Cold winters with sub-zero nights make an extra source of heat welcome in plenty of homes.

Weber and Davis County: Layton, Ogden, North Ogden and South Ogden. Older homes in established neighborhoods often have a little-used wood fireplace that suits an electric insert.

Box Elder County: Tremonton, Brigham City, Mantua, Perry, Willard and Corinne. In newer subdivisions, finished basements and bonus rooms are common spots for a wall-mounted unit.

Cache Valley: Smithfield, Logan, North Logan, Nibley and Hyrum. Long inversion stretches keep families indoors, and a fireplace makes the main room a cozier place to wait them out.

Frequently asked questions

Can an electric fireplace heat my whole house?+
No. Electric fireplaces are made to warm one room or area. They work well as extra heat while your furnace or heat pump handles the house.
Do I need a dedicated circuit for an electric fireplace?+
Some models plug into a standard outlet. Larger and hardwired units often need their own circuit, and we check your panel during the visit.
Can you put an electric insert in my old fireplace?+
Yes. Inserts fit into an existing fireplace opening. We check the opening and the nearest power source before recommending a size.
Can I run the flame without the heat?+
Most models let you run the flame effect alone, so you can enjoy the look in summer too.
