Commercial Plumbing in Northern Utah

Commercial plumbing for Northern Utah shops, offices and restaurants: repairs, fixtures, backflow prevention and grease traps.

Need a plumber who understands business buildings?

We handle plumbing for shops, offices, restaurants and other light commercial buildings across Northern Utah, from fixture installs and leak repairs to backflow prevention and grease traps. A business's plumbing works harder than a home's. More people use the restrooms, kitchens run all day, and water rules are stricter because a problem can reach the public water supply. A slow drain or a leaking line also costs you customers and working hours. We plan the work around how your business runs and explain each step in plain language. Commercial plumbing is part of our plumbing services, and we also look after heating and cooling through our commercial HVAC work.

Warning signs your building's plumbing needs attention

Restroom fixtures that run, leak or clog

A toilet that keeps running or a faucet that drips wastes water all day long. Fixtures that clog often may be worn out, the wrong type for heavy use, or sitting on a partly blocked line.

Slow kitchen drains and grease odors

Sinks that drain slowly or smell of old grease mean fat is building up in the line or the grease trap is overdue for cleaning.

Weak pressure or discolored water

Low pressure at sinks or rusty water from the taps usually points to aging pipe, scale, or a failing pressure regulator.

A water bill that climbs with no change in use

When the bill rises but business has not, water is leaking somewhere. A hidden leak in a wall, a running toilet or a stuck valve are common culprits.

Common causes of commercial plumbing problems

Heavy daily use

A restroom used by dozens of people a day wears out flush valves, faucet cartridges and seals far faster than a home bathroom.

Grease from food service

Cooking oil, fat and food scraps from a busy kitchen coat drain lines and fill grease traps. Left alone, they cause backups and odors.

Aging pipe in older buildings

Older storefronts and offices may still have galvanized or cast iron pipe that has rusted inside, narrowing the flow and leaking at joints.

Hard water scale

Mineral-rich Northern Utah water leaves scale in pipes, fixtures and water heaters. In a building with high water use, it builds up quickly.

What to expect when we work on your building

We start with a walk-through: the problem you called about, the fixtures, the shutoffs and the equipment that keeps water moving. Then we explain what we found, list what needs to happen now and what can wait, and give you the price before any work starts. We schedule visits Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 6 PM, and plan the most disruptive work with you, such as handling one restroom at a time.

Backflow prevention

A backflow preventer is a valve assembly that stops used or dirty water from flowing backward into the clean water supply. It matters anywhere a hose, an irrigation system or kitchen equipment ties into the water lines. We install and maintain backflow prevention devices to keep your water supply clean and protect your business and the public.

Grease traps

A grease trap catches fats, oils and food solids from kitchen sinks and dishwashers before they reach the sewer. When it fills, grease escapes downstream and clogs the line. We install, maintain and clean grease traps and the drains around them, which helps prevent backups and keeps you in line with health rules.

Fixtures, water heaters and pipe

We install and replace water-saving faucets, toilets and sinks, along with water heaters sized for a business. When pipes are past repair, we replace them with as little disruption to your business as we can manage. Repairs come with a warranty on parts and labor, and new installations come with a workmanship warranty.

Homeowners can also join our VIP Maintenance Plan. It costs $240 a year and includes one 2-hour visit a year covering an 88-point HVAC and plumbing inspection, a 1-inch filter replacement and a written report. Each plan also brings 10% off repairs and priority scheduling.

Commercial plumbing across Northern Utah

From Brigham City, we work with businesses in three areas.

Box Elder County. Brigham City, Tremonton, Perry, Willard, Corinne and Mantua. Hard water is the steady enemy of restroom fixtures and water heaters here.

Weber and Davis County. Ogden, Layton, South Ogden and North Ogden. Older commercial buildings often need aging pipe replaced in stages so the doors can stay open.

Cache Valley. Logan, Smithfield, North Logan, Hyrum and Nibley. Cold winters make it important to protect water lines in loading areas, back rooms and exterior walls.

Related services

Grease-heavy kitchen lines respond well to hydro jetting, which scrubs the pipe walls clean. When a water heater can't keep up with demand, see water heater installation and replacement. For heating and cooling in the same building, see commercial HVAC.
